2021-2022 McDONALD HOME & SCHOOL COMMITTEES
After School Programs: Coordinate with teachers and outside companies to offer students after-school activities throughout the year.
Chick-Fil-A (or Other Restaurant) Night: Organize fundraising nights to benefit McDonald Elementary.
Decoration: Hang decorations and/or information for the appropriate seasons throughout the school.
Donut Day with Parents: Organize morning donut breakfasts throughout the school year where parents join students.
Father/Son Event: Annual activity for fathers and sons planned by volunteers.
Father/Daughter Event: Annual activity for fathers and daughters planned by volunteers.
5th Grade Committee: Parent volunteers help plan special activities and fundraisers specifically for fifth graders throughout the year.
4th Grade Committee: Parent volunteers help plan special events like Grandparents Day for fourth graders.
Girls Night Out Dance: Annual dance planned by volunteers for male students and a special grown-up guest.
Holiday Gift Shop: Organize a staff of volunteers for students to purchase holiday gifts for their families.
Homeroom Parents: Plan and attend two classroom parties (Halloween & Valentine’s Day). Volunteer for Holiday Gift Shop and May Fair. Chaperone class trips when needed (district clearances may be required for some trips).
Hospitality: Organize a staff appreciation event and other events throughout the year.
Library: Assist students with checking in/out library books. Shelve returned books and assist the librarian as needed. Also, helps with special holiday activities throughout the year. Clearances may be required
May Fair: Plan and coordinate volunteers for annual spring carnival event.
Mother/Son Event: Annual dance planned by volunteers for male students and a special grown-up guest.
Mother/Daughter Event: Annual activity for mothers and daughters planned by volunteers.
Movie Night: Plan a September welcome-back movie event for families.
Recess/Playground: Purchase equipment for indoor and outdoor recess. Coordinate with Trash to Cash reward programs.
School Rewards/Trash-to-Cash: Organizing and counting store cash-back programs like Box Tops or GIANT/ShopRite receipts.
School Sign: Update the outside school sign with upcoming events each month.
School Store: Open a few days of the week before school starts. Volunteers help the children make purchases.
Spirit Wear: Organize with a vendor, sell and distribute School Spirit gear (T-shirts, sweat shirts, etc.)
Trunk or Treat: Organize a Halloween trick-or-treat event where participants are encouraged to decorate their trunks.
Yearbook: Gather pictures throughout the school year. Edit, publish, and coordinate the sale and distribution of yearbook.
